Flowing Fists: What We Know About the First 2027 Pokémon Set

· News

Pokémon TCG Mega Lucario ex League Battle Deck box

The first English Pokémon TCG set of 2027 now has a name and a date: Flowing Fists, led by Mega Lucario Z ex. Below we cover what has been reported so far, which details are still unconfirmed, and how to get ready without overspending before the product lineup is revealed.

The headline facts

PokeBeach reported on October 20, 2026 that Flowing Fists will be the seventh main English set of the Mega Evolution series. Wargamer and other outlets followed with the same details on October 21. Here is what those reports say:

  • Release date: Friday, February 5, 2027.
  • Prerelease events: January 23 to January 31, 2027.
  • Face card: Mega Lucario Z ex, first previewed at the Pokémon World Championships in August 2026.
  • Japanese counterpart: Aura Seeker, which releases in Japan on November 27, 2026.
  • The name: a nod to 2014's XY—Furious Fists, which starred M Lucario-EX.

One important caveat. As of October 22, 2026, The Pokémon Company has not yet posted Flowing Fists on pokemon.com, and no product list, booster pack art, or official contents have been published. We treat the date as reported, not official, until it appears there. If anything changes, we will update our release calendar.

Where it fits in the schedule

Before Flowing Fists, there is still one more main set this year. Mega Evolution—Delta Reign, the sixth main expansion of the series, releases November 6, 2026, with Mega Rayquaza ex as its headline card. That makes Flowing Fists the follow-up roughly three months later.

Japan's calendar gives a preview of what is coming. Per PokeBeach, Japan has a Special Deck Set featuring Mega Feraligatr ex, Mega Dragonite ex, and Mega Gengar ex on November 13, then Aura Seeker on November 27, then MEGA x MEGA Parade, Japan's annual High Class Pack, in February. PokeBeach expects Aura Seeker to be officially revealed within about a week of its report, which means the Japanese card list should give English collectors a long preview window before February.

What we know about the cards

Only a handful of cards have been shown so far. Based on Wargamer's coverage:

  • Mega Lucario Z ex is a Metal-type Mega Evolution Pokémon ex. Its Ability, also called Aura Seeker, searches your deck for a Supporter card, and its attack does 120 damage, doubled against Pokémon ex.
  • Sigilyph ex has an Ability that blocks all damage done to it by Mega Evolution Pokémon. Wargamer expects it to be a meta-shaping card in a format built around Megas.

Mega Lucario Z is a new form that debuted in the Mega Dimension DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, so these cards bring a brand-new Mega form into the trading card game. Special illustration rares and other chase cards have not been revealed yet, so any "chase card" lists you see right now are guesses.

Another smaller set

PokeBeach describes Flowing Fists as another small English set that closely mirrors a single Japanese set, following the pattern of Perfect Order, Chaos Rising, and Pitch Black. Each of those had around 80 main set cards plus about 40 secret rares. For collectors, a smaller set usually means a master set is more achievable, and big hits are spread across fewer total cards.

How we would prepare as collectors

  • Wait for the product reveal before preordering. Without an official lineup, early listings are guesses on contents and price. Patience costs nothing here.
  • Watch the Japanese reveal. Once Aura Seeker spoilers land, you will have a good idea of which cards you actually want before English product hits shelves.
  • Budget for Delta Reign first. November 6 comes well before February 5. Decide what you want from Delta Reign and the remaining 30th Celebration releases, then set money aside for the new year.
  • Fill gaps in the smaller sets now. If you liked the format of the recent smaller sets, they are easier to complete while attention is on new releases.

Lucario fans and players, start here

If Mega Lucario Z ex has you excited, the current Mega Lucario ex archetype is a good place to start. The Mega Lucario ex League Battle Deck is a ready-to-play 60-card deck built around three copies of Mega Lucario ex, with a deck box, damage-counter dice, and a Pokémon TCG Live code card. Collectors can also look at the Lucario & Melmetal GX promo.

For the recent smaller sets that Flowing Fists is expected to resemble, we carry the Pitch Black Elite Trainer Box, the Chaos Rising Booster Bundle, and the Perfect Order Booster Bundle.
